Re: News and Games around the NHL
8251There are no games around the league today. I’m sure there’s a reason but that’s lame.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!
What a great way to build excitement for the start of a season.Dave's a mess wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 7:21 am There are no games around the league today. I’m sure there’s a reason but that’s lame.
They do that incase the opener is rained out so they have a free make up dateDave's a mess wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 7:21 am There are no games around the league today. I’m sure there’s a reason but that’s lame.
Shades of Domenic Hasek.Dave's a mess wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 8:18 am Honestly, I don't even want to know the context, it's funnier that way.

If they decide to move Tage Thompson I hope the Blues are buyers. I'd do Dvorsky, one of our D prospects, and our 1st for him.BluesSK wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 6:20 pmLindy Ruff hockey.Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 3:38 pm I see stuff like this and it makes sense why Buffalo is habitually bad cause what the heck is this
Size is great, but if he can't skate or isn't very mobile in general he will never make it to the NHL. Only time will tell. Size can be a great advantage or a terrible hindrance.
Sounds like an unbeatable goalie.
They don't call him the "Moldovan Mountain" for nothing.Dave's a mess wrote: Tue Oct 14, 2025 6:24 pmSounds like an unbeatable goalie.
Why not another Canadian team? I mean, BEFORE the third team in Atlanta moves there after a few years?Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Tue Oct 14, 2025 9:06 pm Why are they going back to Phoenix and Atlanta when you have places like Milwaukee, KC, even Indy.
But atl failed...twice.... And phx NEVER had a spld out crowd, hell they couldn't sell out a 2000 crowd arena...
Yeah. It's not a good idea at all.Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 8:47 am 36 NHL teams also just seems like an unreasonable amount. You're adding nearly 100 players to the league that are currently not NHLers, including 8 goalies. The skill level will be harmed but it's all just a money grab for the expansion fees.
Gary and the owners don't care. They want the media market coverage for more revenue.Ozzies09tc wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 9:01 amBut atl failed...twice.... And phx NEVER had a spld out crowd, hell they couldn't sell out a 2000 crowd arena...
But, if the teams fail and no one watches or goes to games, there isn't increased revenue. What business is going to sponsor a team that can't draw big crowds and/or has games that no one is watching on TV? I think it's all about the current owners splitting the expansion fee that I am sure doesn't get included in the Hockey Related Revenue (HRR) that the salary cap is based on.BluesSK wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 7:35 pmGary and the owners don't care. It's getting really stupid.
The on ice product is being watered down. The regional sports packages are substandard and they just want more and more without fixing the problems that are already there.
