As usual, feel awful about my picks ,particularly in the East. Could probably see about 5 different teams making it through the East with some puck luck.

Old friend Kasperi Kapanen with the GWG in the final 2 minutes for Edmonton in game 1 last night. I always forget about him. Walman had 2 assists as well.

I'm watching the 3rd period, and I'm saying to myself when Kapanen is motivated the guy can play. Then he scores the game winner a couple minutes later. Then the announcer says it was his 2nd goal of the game. WTF
And Dickinson had 2 goals last night. That's looking like a good deadline p/u by the Oilers.
First time ALL YEAR, that the Oilers won a game without McDavid registering a single point.

Me & Ozzie's bracket virtually the same except I got Vegas beating the Ducks and Tampa beating Buffalo. Damn

Haha, I'm actually watching the replay of the Ducks/Oilers game here at work. Ducks did play a good game, it's not like they folded at the end, they stood tall, Edmonton just took it. Draisaitl playing was huge, he made the last goal happen.

Porter Martone is just such a fun player to watch. Flyers have themselves a really good power forward, which just seems fitting for them.

Buffalo fans are one of a kind hahah I am pretty sure I spot a Jochen Hecht jersey.

The playoffs rock. The last two nights have been so fun. We haven't talked at all about the Sabres-Canes OT nonsense yesterday, but even beyond that almost all of the games have been tight and entertaining so far.

Barbashev, still shows up and plays big in big games. These are the kind of players the Blues need to get back.

the other half of that stat makes it even more insane - every time mcdavid scored a point, they won.

I was convinced this was going to happen the Binner in the 2019 Game 7 vs. Dallas. Not because of Binnington, just the general Blues curse.

I'm excited about Steener.

I heard Army was on today's podcast "The Morning After", and they said Army confirmed on the show that he was going to let Steen call the shots and make player movements as he sees fit. Army said that he was there to give Steen guidance. Now what that means I don't know. Could be interpreted in a number of ways.

Philly is dominating the series but just from quality of action that Flyers - Pens series has been the most entertaining to watch. And I just can't get enough of Gritty

really loving Martone. it's been great to be able to watch some of the games. it would be good for hockey in general if philly wins. they are a very physical team (or as was said during intermission last night, they play "scumbag hockey") and i'd love to see that be the norm/goal going forward.

At the moment we're looking at 2 unsurprising potential sweeps and one moderately surprising potential sweep. I only say moderate because it's not like Philly winning would've been a massive upset, but winning in 4 would be. The other 5 series are mostly very competitive. I think Edmonton is going to take control of that Anaheim series pretty soon once that McDavid guy starts contributing. Definitely been impressed with what I've seen from Montreal through 2 games. They could easily be up 2-0. The first round is awesome pretty much every year.
